Online Assessment Tool (OAT) – update

OATI recently had the pleasure of talking to LCF’s Graduate School about the Online Assessment Tool (which has quickly become known as ‘OAT’).  This CLTAD developed tool is still a work in progress but is available for those tutors who request that it is embedded within their Blackboard course(s) (it will also be available via Moodle when we move from Blackboard to Moodle).

OAT is proving very popular as a look at the usage statistics indicates. Currently (as of 20-4-12) the tool is available to 86 courses and has been used to provide feedback and grading to students submitting work across 220 assessments. This translates into 6821 separate instances of grading/feedback, of which 4618 have been published to date. So far, 131 tutors have provided grading feedback using OAT and 3646 students have received at least 1 instance of feedback in this way.

The presentation I used to introduce and contextualise the Online Assessment Tool is available @: http://tinyurl.com/oatsofar

The next UAL Learning Studio Event will take…

The next UAL Learning Studio Event will take place on Monday 23 May 2011 from 4.30 to 6.30 pm – this time in Room 418 at LCF’s John Princes Street.

It is open to anyone to join and participate in, whatever your role or current use or experience of learning technology. There will be a range of activities, and the approach is very informal – colleagues will simply be talking about how they are using a variety of approaches in their teaching and learning.

Monday’s event will include: Ollie Furlong sharing his recent findings on affordable options for lecture capture; Trams demonstrating hosted video editing and sharing solutions; Pete Cranston talking about the UAL Sandbox (a facility for staff to sample new tools & technologies); John Casey discussing ALTO; Chris Follows demonstrating Process Arts.

Learning and Teaching Day coming soon

Very much looking forward to the Learning and Teaching Day tomorrow which is being held at LCF. There are many exciting and informative workshops on the programme and the only downside is having to be selective – can’t be in all of them! ;-(
